Wiggy
June 11, 2007
Judges and barristers in England and Wales have rejected a proposal that they no longer wear wigs in court. Apparently we English are so uncivilised that the only thing that stops us from blowing raspberries in court is the fear instilled by the sight of lawyers in 17th century wigs.
After hearing this I had a sudden vision of a splendid new uniform for the Metropolitan Police. Get rid of all thoughts of American baseball caps. Constables should chuck away their helmets and don powdered wigs, thus rendering the population of London rigid with fear.
And as Mike says, web-designers need to feel respected too. So, where is my nearest wig shop?
